| Second intramural in Football held at GDC Kathua | | |

Jammu, Mar 20: A second intramural in the sports discipline of Football was organized today by the department of physical education and sports, Government Degree College (GDC) Kathua.
As a sequel to the Khelo India and Fit India Movement of Ministry of Youth affairs and Sports, Govt. of India, the aim of organizing intramurals was to provide an opportunity to the students who are physically fit but do not take part in sports and also to promote sports culture among the student community.
The Intramural was inaugurated by the Principal GDC Kathua Prof. Assa Ram Sharma, The Principal in his address highly appreciated the efforts made by the Physical Education and Sports department for channelizing and motivating the students to take part in sporting activities.
He also praised the students for their active participation in sports. The participating teams were Physical Education Semester-1, NCC (Boys), B.A- Sem.1(Boys), B.A- Sem.5th (Boys) and Boys Hostel Team. The intramural started with the match between Hostel boys and B.A- Semester -5 Team, where B.A Semester-5 won by 7-2 points. The second league match held between NCC Boys and B.A Semester-1, in which B.A Semester -1 won by 0-1 Point. The final Football Intramural held between B.A Semester-1 and semester-5, where B.A Semester-5 won by 2-1.The matches were officiated by the official Football team of GDC Kathua.
The runner and the winner trophies were distributed by worthy Principal Prof. Assa Ram Sharma among the Players. Others among the faculty, who were present Prof. Jasvinder Singh, HOD Physics, Prof Raj Kiran, Dr. Surya Pratap Singh, Dr. Amrik Singh, Dr. Verinder Singh, Prof Kaurab Singh, Dr. Shamsher Singh, Dr. Kamaldeep Singh, Prof Jagdish Lal, Dr. Mahak Mengi |
