| Phunsog pulls up offers lethargy | | Kathua roads | | EARLY TIMES REPORT KATHUA, Sept 27:Expressing displeasure over the delay on the construction of two road projects in Kathua, Advisor to Governor C. Phunsog has exhorted upon the officers to work with proper coordination and refrain from creating liabilities and projecting exorbitant claims. The Advisor, who was on a day’s visit of district Kathua, reviewed the implementation of district plan proposals and progress on other major projects, here today. While reviewing the achievements made in implementation of plan proposals, Phunsog exhorted upon the officers to work with proper coordination in executing the major projects and refrain from creating liabilities and projecting exorbitant claims. Expressing his dissatisfaction over the delay in construction of two major road projects under ERA viz, Kalibari, Hatlimore road via Kathua and Bani Dhagar Road, Phunsog directed the Engineers of PHE, PDD to shift their utilities from the proposed project site at the earliest with minimum financial implications. He also issued instruction DFO Social Forestry of Forest Department for issuing forest clearance for these roads. Reacting to the concerns of the DDC, Kathua over the delay in construction of Shahpur Kandi Barrage, Phunsog said that the matter would be taken up in the north zonal council meeting and meanwhile SE, RTIC was directed to submit a detailed report regarding the losses incurred by the state due to the non- realization of the due share of 1150 Cusec of water from Ravi due to the absence of Shahpur Kandi Barrage and its alternate solution. Phunsog said that double shift working system would be used to complete the projects on targeted time frame and speeding up the development process especially in the hilly areas of the district like Bani, Lohai- Malhar, Machhadi. Better road connectivity is a pre- requisite for development of allied infrastructure in core sectors of health and education and PMGSY can serve as a boon for realizing the transformation of rural pockets into nerve centres of growth and prosperity, the Advisor said. |
