| UPA soft on terror: JSM | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, Sept 27: Strongly criticizing the indecisive and soft policy of the Government of India as well as of J&K State towards terrorist, secessionist and anti-India elements operating in the country particularly in the State, the Jammu State Morcha (P) has alleged that both the Governments lacked the will and courage to meet the challenges posed by the anti-national elements. The Morcha in a meeting held under the chairmanship of its President Virendra Gupta said the Government of India has not awakened even after the serial bomb blasts in U.P, Mumbai, Gujarat, Rajasthan and Delhi. The approach adopted by the Government in tackling the menace of terrorism and in dealing with the J&K problem for the sake of political gain would cost the country very heavily. Government of India is still hesitant to consider the recommendations of 2nd Administrative Reform Commission headed by Virappa Moiley, which had asked for stringent laws to face the extra ordinary challenges posed by the terrorism in the country. The security experts of the country have also pressed for immediate need of the extra ordinary stringent laws while agreeing to the report of the commission. In the absence of these laws the security and intelligence agencies are feeling handicapped and ineffective to fight this menace of terrorism. |
