| Shastri appelas Guv to implement pay commission recommendation | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, Sept 28: President of the National Mazdoor Conference (NMC) Subash Shastri has appealed to the Governor N.N Vohra for early implementation of 6th pay commission recommendations in favour of state govt employees and pensioners. Addressing NMC workers rally here today, Shastri urged for implementing the pay panel report before the ensuing festivals in view of inflation and steep hike in price of essential commodities of daily use. He said since most of the stae including Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Chattisgarh, Haryana and Sikkim etc have extended this benefit to their employees and as such salaried class in J&K should also get this benefit at the earliest. Pleading the cause of daily wagers casual labour and contractual staff, Shastri demanded that their services be regularized before Darbar move. During the rally several resolutioins wre adopted which included releasing pay dues of motivators working IWDP, Akhnoor, Social forestry Department in Trikuta Hills, continuing the services of prism – men in revenue Deptt. issuing order for the regularizations of 180 daily wagers of RDD in Jammu for which posts have already been cleared by the planning deptt. provision of DA instead of Coal for PSU employees, deputing casual labour of floriculture Deptt. for gardeners training along with continuing their services. Among others who also spoke on the occasion were Rajan Babu Khajuria, Pt. Dushyan Sharma, Sham Lal Sharma, Sunil Kochhar, A. Malik, Purshotam Kumar, Sukhdev SIngh, Barkat Ram, Mohan Lal, Roshan Lal, Kasturi Lal, Bupinder Singh and Satpal. |
