| BSP to contest on all 87 seats in J&K: Kashyap | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, Sept 28: Narinder Kashyap, national general secretary and MLC, Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) on Sunday held the Congress party at the centre responsible for the present mess in the state and also for the poor plight of the people. Kashyap, who is also incharge of Punjab and J&K, while addressing massive "Janhit Chetna Andolan" rally here today said that "Congress-PDP previous regime have not only failed to give stable and sustainable governance in the state of Jammu and Kashmir but ended up in a mess’. "During previous rule, major coalition partners were playing 'hide and seek' game resulting into miseries to common masses,' said Kashyap. Commenting over the issue of Amaranth land row, the BSP leader condemned the role of Congress, National Conference (NC), Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and other regional parties for fanning out the communal agenda and disturbing the situation in the state. Referring to recent SASB agitation in Jammu and Kashmir, he held the Congress responsible for the problems and alleged that all other mainstream political parties eyeing the vote bank in the State have exploited current situation to their own 'political vested interests' which was to attain power at all costs. Kashyap regretted that the successive governments in the state have proved to be anti-people as they did nothing to provide employment to the educated youth and even did not implement the Mandal Commission report. Kashyap informed that Party on its "Janhit Chetna Andolan" will raise issues like Nuclear Deal, unemployment, poverty, illiteracy, skyrocketing prices. He reiterated that the 'social engineering’ would be BSP's trump card during the upcoming assembly and parliamentary polls in the state. Referring to the polls in the state, he said party has decided to contest on all the 87 assembly segments in the coming to provide an alternative government in the state. "We are expecting astonishing results during the poll as many people and leaders have now started accepting Mayawati's leadership,' he claimed, adding the party is hopeful of providing an alternative to the people in state and centre as well. He appealed the masses to support BSP for their better future and equitable development in the state. Yash Pal Bhagat, state president, BSP, Krishan Thappa, Tulsi Dass Langeh, B S Chouhan, coordinator and other senior functionaries of BSP also addressed the rally. |
