| 2 BSF jawans injured in mine blast along IB | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, Sept 28: Two border security force jawans were injured when they accidentally stepped on a land mine along the India-Pakistan Border, near here this morning Official sources told News Agency of Kashmir that two jawans of 112- battalion of Border Security Forces (BSF) were critically injured in a mine blast which took place near Khoura post in Samba sector of International Border in Jammu and Kashmir at around 8:30 this morning. "Two jawans were injured one of them critically in powerful land mine blast" a senior officer of BSF wishing not to be named told adding, both the jawans were shifted to Hospital, where doctors term the condition of one Jawan as critical. The injured jawans have been identified as Constable Boja Singh and Munish Kumar, Sing according to sources was shifted to Government College for specialized treatment. "Two blasts were reported one at 8:20 am and another at 8:30 along International Border" a police officer told News Agency of Kashmir, adding police was ascertaining the facts about the mysterious blasts. Admitting the reports about the blasts and injuries to two of its constables, officials of BSF were confused about the incident as it did not confirm the nature of Blast. It was reliably learnt that the jawans were patrolling along IB when they when they accidentally stepped on the mine, which is suspected to have been planted either during the Kargil war or later. If sources in intelligence are to be believed, the land mine has been planted by a group of militants which earlier infiltrated to this side and were later killed in Samba. Three civilians including the senior Photo Journalist Ashok Sodhi also become victim of the cross fire. |
