| 3 Lashkar militants escape, hideout busted in Poonch | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
JAMMU, Sept 28 : Security forces today busted a hideout as a group of three militants of Lashkar-e-Toiba (LeT) managed to escape under the cover of darkness in tehsil Mendhar of Poonch district in Jammu and Kashmir, official sources here said.
‘’Based on tip off, a joint operation was launched by the troops of 7 Kumaon Regiment, 39 Rashtriya Rifkes and Special Operation Group in Behri Rakh area near village Chajjla of Mendhar tehsil at around 0630 hrs,’’ the sources told UNI.
The militants however, escaped on seeing the patrol party searching the dense forest area while the security forces recovered two blankets, socks, a salwar-kameez pair and a civil dress from the site, sources added.
‘’The area has been cordoned and the search intensified as recovery of ammunition and explosives cannot be ruled out,’’ they said. |
