| JAC serves 15 days ultimatum to Govt. | | ‘Employees to go on pen down strike on Oct 15’ | | EARLY TIMES REPORT Jammu, Sept 28: Jammu and Kashmir Government Employees Joint Action Committee today served 15 days notice to the government for implementing the recommendations of the 6th pay commission failing which the employees across the state would go on strike. Addressing media persons here today the JAC leaders said that the employees would be holding pen down strike on October 15 to press for its demands including the implementation of 6th pay panel recommendations in the state. The JAC leaders reminded that the successive state governments in written agreements with the employees had promised implementation of pay panel recommendations as and when announced but regretted that no action has been initiated on it so far despite the fact that several state governments in the country have already implemented the recommendations. Under the prevailing circumstances the JAC has unanimously decided to serve a 15 days notice to the state government to implement the recommendations as otherwise the employees would be forced to go for strike and has given a call for Kam Chodo hartal on October 15. However, the emergency operational staff of PHE, PDD and Hospitals shall be exempted from the purview of the proposed strike on October 15. |
