| Chib demands compensation for farmers | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
Jammu | Sept 29: MLC, R.S. Chib during his tour to Bishnah and R.S. Pura area found that basmati paddy has been damaged due to the non availability of water.
Chib who met number of villagers was informed that sever rain fall and low supply of irrigation water from irrigation department is also responsible. Thus urged the MLC, that the matter may be taken at the higher authorities, so that basmati paddy is saved from further damage.
After listening the demands of Chib urged upon the government especially the irrigation and Power Departments to ensure un-interrupted supply of power and water.
He also urged upon the revenue authorities to immediately assess the damages caused to the crops in different villages along the border so that the compensation for the same could be paid to the farmers in time. Chib also talked to the Divisional/Deputy Commissioner, Jammu to instruct the revenue authorities in these areas so that the assessment is made and the farmers paid the compensation. |
