Khajuria hits out at Kashmiri politicians
9/29/2008 11:28:04 PM
EARLY TIMES REPORT
JAMMU, Sept 29: Lambasting Congress and other Kashmir centric parties, especially NC and PDP for pursuing separatist agenda and betraying the people of Jammu, the State BJP president Ashok Khajuria, while addressing a very largely attended Swabhimaan/Adhikar rally at Sunderbani today expressed optimism that BJP would become a force to reckon with after the assembly elections as it has established its pro-people credentials by identifying itself with the sentiment of the people of Jammu.
He said there is none in Jammu who would ever buy the argument of the Congress that the Amarnath land issue was resolved at its behest, adding whatever the Congress leadership is saying in this regard is being ridiculed by everyone as the people of Jammu are witness to their role, which led to the turmoil in the state, exploded Jammu against the communal policies of this party and created furor across the country. “The people across the country would never ever forgive these parties for their outrageous assault on the religious sentiments of the Hindus and their extra-ordinary support to the religious fanatics and separatists in Kashmir”, said Khajuria.
Speaking on the occasion, former BJP President Dr. Nirmal Singh took the Congress and NC to task for systematically excluding Jammu from the state assembly by giving disproportionate representation to Kashmir despite the fact that Jammu province was superior both in terms of land area and voters. He said the Kashmiri leadership, in collaboration with their agents in Jammu and administration, has all along fudged the census figures to benefit Kashmir and ensure that Jammu plays the role of second fiddle. He once again urged the State Governor to use his powers under section 92 of the state constitution, set up a delimitation commission and see to it that Jammu gets its due share in the assembly.
Former BJP State President Daya Krishan Kotwal attacked the authorities for being liberal and soft to subversives and anti-national elements.
The rally which was organized by Vishwinder Dev Sharma, Prabhari Nowshera-Sunderbani was also addressed by Capt. Ramesh Lal, Pt. Gian Chand Sharma, Raj Kumar, S. Jarnail Singh, Bodh Raj Sharma, Krishan Lal Mistri, Prithvi Raj Gupta and Sanjay Kumar.
