World Health Day celebrated in GMC Kathua

KATHUA, Apr 7: Department of Microbiology, under the patronage of worthy Principal GMC Kathua has organised a poster competition for 2nd Prof MBBS students on the occasion of "World Health Day" today on 07th, April 2021. All the students actively participated with great enthusiasm and came out with their ingenious ideas and expressed them in paintings on theme of "World Health Day"2021 "Building a Fairer, healthier world". The competition was judged by Dr. Surinder Attri, HOD Pathology, Dr. Natasha Sawhney, I/c HOD Microbiology and Dr.Vineeta, HOD Pharmacology. Best poster was awarded to
Varun Manhas and Miss. Vanshika Verma by Dr.Anjali Nadir Bhat, Principal GMC Kathua .Focussing on the theme for the year 2021, Dr. Natasha awared the students on 2021 theme of "Building a fairer, healthier world" stating that equity in health is centrepiece for which WHO has proposed 4 major steps of working together, collecting reliable data, tackling inequities and acting beyond borders. She further added that the significance of this day for the year 2021 is that this day usually marks the beginning of new campaign that seeks to promote a healthy world and in support of this campaign posters were made to support the organisation .
