| KAS induction list challenged | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, Sept 30: Justice Sunil Hali of J&K High Court Jammu Wing today in a petition filed by Bupesh Sharma presently holding the post of Deputy Commissioner Transport in his own pay and grade, seeking regularization as ARTO from January 31, 2001 and also challenging recommended list for the induction of KAS, issued notice to State through Commissioner/ Secretary Transport, Commissioner/Secretary GAD and private respondent returnable within three weeks and also directed the respondents to refer the case of Assistant Regional Transport Officers to the DPC/PSC for confirmation on the said post, which is one of the feeding cadres to KAS. Court further directed that till then status-quo as it exists today shall be maintained. These significant directions were passed in a petition in which Sr. Adv ZA Shah assisted by Adv Vipin Gandotra appearing for the petitioner, Bumesh Sharma, submitted that before referring the case of Assistant Regional Transport Officers for their induction into KAS, it is necessary that their confirmation is required to be done by the DPC/PSC on the said post. In the petition it has been submitted that petitioner seeking induction in the KAS on the ground that he is the senior to private respondent No 3, as he was appointed In-charge ARTO in the month of January, 2001 and charge allowance was sanctioned in his favour on August 14, 2001 and the petitioner was entitled to the scale from the said date but the pay scale was sanctioned in his favour later on in the pa-grade of 7500-12000 and is presently posted as Deputy Commissioner Transport in his own pay and grade and seeks regularization on the post of ARTO from January 31, 2001. The petitioner also challenged the selection list for induction of KAS. Court, after hearing the counsel for the petitioner and going through the petition, directed the respondents to maintain status-quo as it exists today. JNF |
