| Civilian injured during a scuffle on land dispute in Shopian succumbs to injuries at SKIMS Soura | | | Srinagar, September 11: A civilian wounded critically during a scuffle over a dispute on a patch of land succumbed to injuries at Shopian hospital. Police registered a case of murder and started a manhunt to 5 of a family named accused in the case. Reports reaching Srinagar indicate that one Gh Mohi-ud-Din Ganaie S/O Gulla Ganaie R/O Ramnagri Shopian was engaged in a dispute on a ptach of land with one of his close relations for quite some time. Police sources told KNS that the warring parties were occasionally used to have heated exchange of words on this count, but on August 27 this year they had a scuffle during which hostile relations of Gh Mohi-ud-Din Ganai thrashed him so severely that he fell unconscious and blood started percolating from his body. He was shifted to SKIMS Soura immediately where he succumbed to injuries on Sunday evening. A pall of gloom descended on the residents of Gh Mohi-ud-Din’s native place , when his body reached there. Meanwhile police identified the killers as Bashir Ahmed Ganaie S/O Ab Samad, his two sons Ab Rashid and Nazir Ahmed, Manzoor Ahmed Ganaie S/O Ab Samad and Nazir Ahmed Ganaie S/O Ab Qadir. The case registered under FIR No: 217/06 , U/S 307 RPC has been changed and stands registered U/S 302 RPC. Police is conducting raids on possible hide outs of the culprits. |
