| Finance commissioner presents report | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT SRINAGAR, Sept 30: Chairman, Jammu and Kashmir State Finance Commission, Dr M Rehman, today presented a part of the Report, which covers issues relating to restructuring of Public Sector Undertakings (PSUs) and fiscal devolution to Municipalities and Local Bodies, to Governor, N N Vohra, here this morning. Dr Rehman apprised the Governor that the Commission has had perpetual interactions with the Chief Executives of all the Public Sector Undertakings to glean and collate the required information. Dwelling on the salient features of the report, Dr Rehman said that the Commission has suggested various ways and means for restructuring of PSUs in the State. He also referred to the high importance of fiscal devolution to the civic bodies and said that the issues of finances, relating to restructuring of the public finances, restoring budgetary balances for macro-economic stability and debt reduction have been closely examined. Dr Rehman said that the Commission had visited almost all the districts of the State for first hand enquiries and interactions. The Governor lauded the efforts of the Commission in compiling the report and assured Dr Rehman that the recommendations would be examined on the more urgent basis. |
