| MIET's might –NBA, AICTE accreditation | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, Oct 1: Model Institute of Engineering and Technology (MIET) has attained the prestigious accreditation by the National Board of Accreditation (NBA), a statutory body of the Government of India. The accreditation has been specifically granted for the two departments of Computer Science and Engineering and Electronics and Communication Engineering, which is testament to the high quality of educational services on offer at the institute in general and the two departments in particular. The institute was visited by the high-powered Expert Committee of the NBA, comprising an ex-Vice Chancellor and senior Professors from reputed National Institutions and placed on record its appreciation for the high-quality infrastructure created by MIET and the quality of faculty, besides the focus on environmental planning, the commitment levels of the management, staff and students, the innovative academic initiatives, industry linkages established and the significant research output which is normally non-existent at the under-graduate level in other institutions. It is pertinent to note that MIET has linkages with four of the top 10 IT companies in the world – HP, IBM, Cisco and EMC and has published over 60 research papers in reputed international and National journals and conferences, besides filing for patents at the US Patents and Trademarks Office.
