Early Times Report
JAMMU, Apr 11: The workers of Dogra Front (DF) and Shiv Sena (SS) under the leadership of their president Ashok Gupta took out a rally in Jammu city seeking eviction of Rohingyas from Jammu city as they have posed a great threat to the safety and security of the nation after the Supreme Court's decision.
Rohingyas had an active role in the Sunjwan terror attack on the military base in which six soldiers and one civilian died, said Ashok Gupta.
Gupta stated that the local residents of Jammu are happy that the Rohingyas are being identified, and the process of sending them back to their country has started.
The entire settlement process of Rohingyas in Jammu was to change the demography as they circled the entire Jammu city and the military installations. In 2015 a terrorist named 'Chota Burmi' was killed by the security forceswhich shows there involvement with the terror outfits, he added.
Ashok Gupta said that the Apex Courthas said that these Rohingyas should be deported but with the due process. The central government who has started the process should deport them.
The Supreme Court also acknowledged the centre's reply in the matter which relates to threat to internal security and that agents and touts are providing a safe passage into India for illegal immigrants due to the porous nature of landed borders.
At last he stated that some politicians have expressed their displeasure over the process initiated by the Government. He claimed that the Indian Government had signed a charter of United Nations related to refugees, which it should follow. However, in reality, India has not agreed to the 1951 UN Refugee Convention and the 1967 Protocol to that Convention. It is up to India which refugees it wants to accept or reject.
The party workers who were present at the time of protest Birbal, Sushil, Krishan, Lal Singh, Bantu, Ashish, Suresh, Janki, Pajo and several others.
