DC reviews functioning of Revenue Department

POONCH, Apr 11: Deputy Commissioner (DC) Poonch, Inder Jeet, today reviewed functioning of Revenue Department here at a meeting of Revenue officers of the District.
ADC Poonch Dr Basharat Hussain; Assistant Commissioner Revenue Zaheer Ahmed Kaifi; SDM Mendhar Dr Sahil Jandhyal; SDM Surankote Saleem Ahmed; All the Tehsildars and Naib Tehsildars of the district and other revenue officials attended the meeting.
During the meeting, the DC had a detailed review of various issues like progress and deposition of Jamabandis, Girdawaries, attestation of mutations, progress on eviction of encroachment from government, Kahcharai, Common land and forest land and maintenance of Revenue Record for digitization and the cases related to the land acquisition.
The DC set deadline for completion and deposition of Jamabandies for the year 2021-2022.
While reviewing the progress on removal of encroachments, the DC exhorted upon the concerned officers to keep strict vigil for preventing encroachment and directed Tehsildars to evict minimum 1000 kanals of state land per month and also ensure submission of photographs and copy of Roznamcha along with the completion of tour diary. He further asked for holding rural camps for the attestation of Mutation camps in every month. He directed the concerned officials to attest the inheritance and other mutations within the stipulated timeline.
The Deputy Commissioner reiterated that revenue officers must submit monthly report and desired information for further submission to higher authorities well in time without any fail.
During the meeting, the DC asked for giving revenue matters related to the public first priority. He asked them to keep days reserved for revenue matters to create a citizen friendly and accountable administration.
He also impressed upon all the revenue employees that they should refrain from taking leaves on these designated days unless it’s unavoidable.
Apart from this several other issues being faced by the field staff were raised for the consideration of the district administration.
