JAMMU, Apr 11: 1st Match of Akhnoor Premier League (APL) U-17 was played today at Government Higher Secondary School Akhnoor between Singh Lions and Akhnoor Avengers. Toss was won by Akhnoor Avengers which elected to bat first. Akhnoor Avengers struggled a lot while batting and managed to score only 99/10 in 20 overs, from Akhnoor Avengers Paras scored 26 (40), Ujwal 16 (19), Taruwar 13 (11) while from Singh Lions Akhnoor Dhoni got 3 wickets, Arun, Neeraj and Sachin shared 2 wickets each, Nanit got one wicket. Singh Lions Akhnoor while chasing easily scored 101/1 in 10.1 overs thereby wiining the match by 9 wickets. From Singh Lions Akhnoor Binay Singh scored 51(29), Nanit Radhay scored 17(19), Sachin scored 16(12) while from Akhnoor Avengers Mohit took 1 wicket. Binay Singh for his splendid knock was adjudged Man of the Match. Rlier, eaRakesh Malhotra (Councillor Ward No. 6) with Deepak Manni (Councillor Ward No. 10) and D.N Abrol (ex-President MC Akhnoor) inaugurated the tournament whereas Others present on the occasion were Kr. Sham Singh Langeh (General Secretary JKCA Dist. Jammu), Davinder Chanan, Dr. Romesh Kashyap, Sushil Sharma, Sunita Devi, Rajinder Sharma, Raman Gupta, Raman Sharma, Parveen Kumar, Sunil Kumar (Bendy), Deepak Mangotra and Rajesh Sharma. Tournament is being organized by Singh Cricket Club Akhnoor under the overall supervision of Kr. Sham Singh Langeh (General Secretary JKCA District Jammu).
