| Sprawling Buds spend time with Elders | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, Oct 1: To inculcate sense of belonging and respect for elders among the tiny tots, the management of Sprawling Buds School, Chinore celebrated the `World Elder’s Day’ at Home for the Aged and Infirm (Vridh Ashram), Amphala, here today. The young children spend time with the elders and entertained them by reciting poems, dancing on the tunes of music. To make the visit a memorable one, the school management and the students also arranged a party for the elders. About 80 pre-primary students were there to celebrate the occasion. To give the elders due importance, the oldest inmate of the Home for the Aged and Infirm, Gouri Sharan was invited on the stage to cut the cake amidst claps from the gathering. Cake and drinks were also served to the entire Home by the young children under the supervision of their teachers. Earlier, Director of the School, Arti Sharma explained the importance of the `Elders Day’. She goes into details about various provisions under different laws to safe guard the interests of the elders in India. “Our elders are our roots and without whom we can’t even think of our existence, so we all should realize that they are an important part of our life.” Also present on the occasion, Secretary Home for the Aged and Infirm, Vijay Kumar Bargotra expressed gratitude to the management of the Sprawling Buds School for bringing the young children close to elders. He urged both students and the members of the school management to keep on visiting the Ashram in future. Oldest inmate at the Home, Gouri Sharan while expressing his thanks to the students asking them to come again. He blessed the tiny tots of a bright future. Also present were Directors of the School, Ramesh Khajuria, Rahul Sharma and Atul Sharma. |
