| ADC reviews arrangements for Navratras | | | KATHUA, SEPTEMBER 11 -To review the arrangements being made for the yatris on different shrines of Goddess located in Kathua district, a joint meeting of officers and members of management committees was held here today. Additional Deputy Commissioner Kathua Mr Charanjit Singh presided over the meeting. Assistant Commissioner (Revenue) Mr Abdul Hafeez, SDM Billawar, Chief Medical Officer, Executive Engineers of PWD, PHE, PDD, PHE Mechanical, DFO, ARTO, Tehsildars Kathua, Basohli, Hiranagar, Dy SP and members of management committees of Mata Sukerala Deviji, Mata Bala Sundriji at Sunderikote, Billawar and Jasrota Wali Mata and other shrines were present on the occasion. Threadbare discussions were held in the meeting for the smooth conduct of yatras at different shrines located in the district. Referring security arrangements, Dy SP apprised the meeting that additional force will be deployed to ensure the security of the yatris. He informed that lady constables would be deployed at Airwan and VDC members will also be pressed into service for the security arrangements. The management committee members of Sukerala Deviji, Bala Sundriji and Jasrota Wali Mata raised various problems related to non-availability of drinking water facilities at the shrines, power supply, bad condition of roads, transportation and non-availability of medicare facilities. The concerned district officers who were present on the occasion assured the members of management committees for restoration of these essential items. Speaking on the occasion, the ADC stressed upon the officers to make adequate arrangements for the yatris during Navratras. He asked the Executive Engineers, PHE and PDD to ensure regular water supply at the identified places besides providing uninterrupted power supply during the holy Navratras. He also directed the CMO to provide adequate medicare facilities to the yatris during the Navratras at all the shrines. He issued instructions to the traffic authorities to ensure smooth movement of the traffic during the Navratras and parking places may be timely identified for the smooth passage of traffic. He also directed the ARTO to arrange special buses for the devotees to visit the holy shrines. The ADC appealed the management committees to extend cooperation to the administration for successful conduct of these yatras. |
