| Panthers defer hunger strike | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, Oct 4: The working committee of JKNPP has postponed its proposed hunger strike in front of Election Commission’s office at New Delhi till October 10. The hunger strike was scheduled from October 6 in support of Delimitation of the assembly constituencies and also to hold election so that a popular government be installed for redressed of the sufferings of the people of the state. Bhim said that Panthers will hold hunger strike and submit a fresh memorandum to the election commission demanding delimitation of Assembly constituencies without any delay through Justice Kuldeep Singh Commission, which has delimited Lok Sabha constituencies recently, All the migrants from Doda, Ramban, Kishtwar, Bhaderwah, Poonch, Rajouri, Reasi who are camping as deserted migrants should be included in the electoral list as has been done in case of Kashmiri migrants, The electoral roles should be revised comprehensively as is mandatory in the People’s Representation Act, All the voters should be provided with Photo Identity Cards s is done in other states. In J&K state less than 50% voters have been issued voter identity cards only, which is fatal to hold free and fair elections and also security covers should be provided to the party leaders and candidates from Panthers Party to ensure their mobility. |
