| BJP poses questions to NC | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, Oct 4:Asserting that Jammu-based National Conference (NC) leaders have virtually gone astray and that they are foolishly striving to divert the people’s attention from the real issues, BJP State Vice-president and spokesperson Prof. Hari Om today asked them to answer seven specific questions so that the people see for themselves who of the two—BJP and NC—is right and who of the two supported/opposed the land-restoration movement spearheaded by the Shri Amarnath Yatra Sangarsh Samiti (SAYSS). He said the Jammu-based NC leaders cannot go scot-free by taking recourse to falsehood and deceit to hide their sins. They have to answer these questions to explain their position on the land controversy:- Prof Hari Om asked is it not a fact that the Kashmir-based NC leaders made common cause with Kashmiri separatists after May 26 (when land was transferred to Shri Amarnath Shrine Board) and opposed the land transfer order saying it was aimed at changing the Kashmir’s demographic profile by establishing Hindu enclaves near the Holy Amarnath Shrine and NC patron Dr. Farooq Abdullah told media person in Srinagar on June 20 that if his party was voted to power, it would cancel the transfer order, arrest those who issued it and proceed against them? Is it not a fact that all the Kashmir-based NC leaders, along with the PDP and Hurriyat leaders, the Kashmir Bar, the Kashmir University’s teaching fraternity, Kashmir Chamber of Commerce and Industry and an influential section of the local print and electronic media, created a furor across Kashmir over the land transfer issue, communalized the whole issue and asked for the cancellation of the May 26 Cabinet order and that all the Kashmir-based NC leaders, like all other valley-based leaders, celebrated the July 1 Congress-led Government’s order nullifying its earlier May 26 order as the Kashmir’s major victory, he asked ? |
