| HC stays promotion of 3 Naib-Tehsildars | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
JAMMU, Oct 4:Justice Sunil Hali of J&K High Court, Jammu wing, has stayed the promotion of three Naib-Tehsildars to the rank of Tehsildars.
This significant was order passed in a writ petition filed by Gurdarshan Singh and others challenging the promotion of private respondents namely Kasturi Lal, Rattan Lal and Rukman Din. The petitioners submitted that all these three private respondents, who did not appear in the departmental examination and not even partially qualified the same, were promoted to the rank of Tehsildar, ignoring the claims of the petitioners who were partially qualified and BA.LLB.
After hearing Adv M.R. Qureshi appearing for the petitioners, Justice Hali issued notice to State of J&K through Commissioner/Secretary Revenue Department, Financial Commissioner Revenue, Divisional Commissioner Jammu and the promote Tehsildars and ordered that in the meanwhile, till next date of hearing, promotions of respondents Kasturi Lal, Rattan Lal, Rukman Din shall remain stayed.
