| Devotional songs: Cine stars, film makers to judge competition | | Navratras at Katra | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
KATRA, Oct 4: On the 4th day of Navratras Festival, an all India devotional song Competition was organized jointly by Shri Mata Vaishnodevi Shrine Board and J&K Tourism Department in Association with other organizations.
Manoj Diwedi, Additional Chief Executive Officer SMVD Shrine Board and Vice Chairman Navratra Festival Committee, who was the chief guest inaugurated the event by lightening the traditional lamp.
While speaking on the occasion he said that we feel proud in saying that reality shows which are the main highlights of all channels now a days was started by them 10 years ago, when this concept was no where in picture and now singers from this stage have attained popularity throughout India and most of them are doing play back singing in films, award functions and in major events throughout India and abroad.
Rakesh Wazir, Chairman All India Devotional Song committee (Sub Committee) said that top film personalities from Mumbai, including Producer and Director Mukesh Bhatt, Managing Director Venus Recording and Tapes Ltd. Ganesh Jain, Director Tips Industries Ltd. Ramesh Turani, Film actress Preeti Sapru, Trade analyst Vikas Mohan vice president Zee Jagran Bharkha Arora are supposed to come on the finals of All India Devotional Song competition to be held on Oct 8, 2008, as judges. He further said that discussions are going on with more personalities from film line to have their presence on the finals of the competition, besides guest items by previous toppers of the competition.
On the day, out of 14 selected candidates from audition, Priyanka from Vijaypur Samba stood first in tough cut to cut competition, similarly Surpal from Jullundhur stood second and Vishal from Arnia stood 3rd on the fourth day of the preliminary rounds of All India Devotional Song Competition. As per rules of the competition, Priyanka got straight entry into mega final and Surpal and Vishal entered into semi finals to be held on Oct 7, 2008. |
