| UPA failed on terror: Chaman | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, Oct 4: Voicing its concern over the spurt in terror acts in Kashmir, Bhartia Janta party has criticized UPA government for its failure in dealing the fundamental and separatist forces in the state. Former Union Minster and senior BJP leader, Chaman Lal Gupta, said that the way there is spurt in the violation of cease-fire and infiltration bids to push highly motivated ultras to this side of the border/LoC, coupled with the turmoil created by the Pak elements in certain parts of the valley of Kashmir, the situation requires review so that the frontiers of the country could properly be defended. Prof. Gupta said a deep look into the whole situation clearly shows the failure of the Congress led UPA dispensation at the Centre, both at the diplomatic front to deal with Pakistan and unrealistic approach to tackle the fundamentalism and secessionism in the valley. The BJP leader observed that the eruption of secessionism and anti-national activities in the valley of Kashmir was due to tug of war for chairs between activists of the Congress and PDP, a partner of the erstwhile Ghulam Nabi Azad coalition, as also the race between the National Conference and PDP to have supremacy in the separatists polity of the troubled valley, he added. |
