| J&K bank’s mobile branch hits roads | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT SRINAGAR, Oct 4: Governor N N Vohra, flagged off J&K Bank's Mobile Bank Branch at SKICC, here this evening. The Mobile Bank branch, first of its kind in the J&K State, will have the state will be functioning in a hi-tech mobile van fully equipped with all the basic facilities of a full fledged branch. The branch is fully computerized having cash vault and sufficient space for customers and staff. All the basic functions of the bank will be available to the customers in this mobile branch. The Governor, who boarded the mobile van to have a look at the state-of-the-art technology of the mobile bank branch, lauded the role of the J&K Bank in rendering high class services to the people of the State even in remotest locations. He appreciated this initiative of the bank, which, he said, will widen the horizon of financial inclusion of those who have so far remained outside the ambit of banking. He said this facility will particularly help the people in remote and far off areas. Dr. Haseeb A Drabu, Chairman and Chief Executive of the Bank said, "We are of the view that if a customer, due to frail infrastructure, is not able to reach the bank branch let the bank reach to him. We take it as our social responsibility to provide banking services to the people of remote areas who find it difficult to reach our branches." It is a hi-tech step towards our financial inclusion through which we are reaching out to all, said Dr. Drabu. Principal Secretary to Governor, B B Vyas, J&K Bank Presidents, Tafazal Hussain and Mr. Parvaiz Ahmad (who is also the Zonal Head, Central Kashmir and Company Secretary) and Vice President Khursheed Ahmad Pandit, were also present on the occasion. |
