Jammu, Apr 24: NSS unit and Eco club of GDC Bishnah organized a plantation drive as part of the green week being celebrated to mark the Earth Day. All the teaching and non teaching staff of the college participated in the said drive. The plants planted during the drive included the Neem, Nerium, Casia sps, Sukhchain, Cycas revoluta, etc. Speaking on the occasion Principal of the college Dr. Anuradha Pandoh emphasized on planting more and more trees for restoring the original environment of the earth for the sustenance of life. The convener of Eco Club, Dr. Suman Bala, threw light on the medicinal use of the plants. The vote of thanks was presented by Prof. Amit Kumar Sharma NSS Programme officer of GDC Bishnah. Prof. Hardeep Kour, Prof. Archana Bakshi, Dr. Alka Sharma, Prof. D.S.Manhas, Prof. Rashmi Arya were also present during the plantation drive. |
