JAMMU, Apr 24: Supreme Court stayed the order of the Division Bench of J&K High Court whereby 9 shops situated in House No 1 near Mahalakshmi temple Pacca Danga were directed to be demolished after being declared unsafe by the Jammu Municipal Corporation. In this case, tenants were not given opportunity of being heard and declaration of building as unsafe was made at the behest of landlord, who had suffered in a judgement of eviction suit but by manipulating JMC authorities he got order passed that this building is unsafe in order to evict the tenants through this method.
