VIJAYPUR, Apr 24: People demonstrated against the Jal Shakti Department Samba in protest against non-functionality of motor of a Tube Well in Raya village of Vijaypur for the last 22 days.
The protest took place under the leadership of Congress leader Raghubir Singh.
Protesting people said that the motor is getting broke after every 15-20 days, but the department only fixes this motor, instead of replacing it with a new motor.
Today the people of the village went to the Tube Well and shouted slogans against the PHE Department. People say that two motors should be kept, if one goes out of order then the other could be installed immediately.
Congress leader Raghubir Singh said that the people of Kandi area have no means of water other than the Tube Well. He said that if the department does not take any appropriate steps soon, then people will close the Jammu-Pathankot National Highway.
Chanchal Singh, Kuldeep Singh, Mohinder Singh, Surat Singh and others also took part in the demonstration. |
