Early Times Report

Jammu, Apr 24: General Category Peoples’ Front – Jammu (GCPF-J) held its meeting adhering to all the prescribed SOPs of Covid-19 under the chairmanship of Raj Kumar Banathia, Chairman of the Front and held deliberations with its Core Committee members.
The issues of General Category were discussed, the members regretted unethical and discriminatory attitude of all political parties towards unreserved categories, who have been ignored and marginalized through partial and appeasement policies since 1950.
Banathia cautioned people on emerging Covid-19 situation and urged people to extend support to the authorities in the battle against Corona – Virus and follow SOPs especially use of face-masks besides social gatherings.
Speaking on the occasion, Yash Paul Sanson, President of the Front alleged that the mainstream political parties had failed to protect the rights to equality and equal opportunities and misused constitutional guarantees promoting casteism and communalism for vested political interest.
Basic fundamental rights which could not be removed from the constitution had been denied to the majority by restricting their impartial application. He also condemned pro-minority and anti-majority approach of the government and demanded that the benefits, concessions and special privileges provided to the minorities, sex/STs be extended to others as to differentiate between majority and minority, caste and caste and to accord one more privileges and concessions is against the principal of equality and is a clear cut violation of Human Rights.
Members unanimously demanded issuance of notification for classification of religious minorities based on their population in each State and stressed upon the Union Government to lay down guidelines for identification of the minority Communities at State level.
