Virtual seminar to celebrate Panchayati Raj divas

Jammu, Apr 24: To celebrate Panchayti Raj Day, All Jammu and Kashmir Panchayat Conference, AJKPC due to COVID restrictions today organized a virtual seminar wherein senior members of the organization attended the event online. Anil Sharma, President of the organization presided over the program and addressed the participants, he appreciated the technical support team of the AJKPC who despite COVID restrictions ensured the celebration of the Panchayati Raj Diwas and made it sure that the participants from even far off places attend the online seminar.
In his address, the AJKPC president congratulated all the 33000 Panchayat members who despite all odds contributing towards the development of the Jammu and Kashmir Union Territory. Sharma said that though before the Panchayat elections the State and Union governments had made huge promises with the contesting candidates but after the successful conduct and participation of candidates the government forgot these people.
He said even in COVID pandemic, the Panches and Sarpanches provided all sort of help the people and the administration but unfortunately the UT government and bureaucracy never gave due credit to them. In a unanimous resolution, the participants reiterated the demand of the AJKPC for full implementation of all provisions of 73rd amendments for complete autonomy for Panchayti Raj Institutions.
All vice presidents of AJKPC, Ghulam Rasool, Shoqat Choudhary, Ashok Singh, Amzad khan, S Avtar Singh, S Raja Singh and S Ravinder Singh were present.
