| Punish Jaichands of Jammu | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
JAMMU, Oct 5: BJP State President Ashok Khajuria, along with former Union Minister Prof. Chaman Lal Gupta and Member National Executive and former State President Dr. Nirmal Singh today addressed a massive “Swabhimaan Rally” at Miran Sahib town of R.S.Pura assembly constituency and asked people to punish the Jaichands of Jammu in forthcoming assembly elections.
Ashok Khajuria, while addressing the rally, said that the Jammu-based leaders of parties like Congress, NC and PDP, who had gone in hibernation during the 2-month agitation, are now shedding crocodile tears to once again mislead the people of the Jammu region. He criticized the successive state governments for not paying any attention to the genuine and long pending demands of the West Pakistan refugees, refugees of 1965 and 1971 and the internally displaced Kashmiri Hindus.
Prof. Chaman Lal Gupta, in his address, stressed for political power for Jammu and demanded delimitation in the state. He said the Jammu region has witnessed gross neglect during the last 61 years in all matters by the Kashmir-centric political parties. He said how unfortunate it is that the Jammu region has more population and more area than that of Kashmir but have less assembly seats.
Dr. Nirmal Singh, in his address, said although the country became independent in 1947 but we, the Jammuites, became slaves of Kashmiri leaders and have been facing discrimination in all matters and at all levels. He said the Jammu-based leaders of Congress in particular have worked as ‘Jaichands’ and worked to please their Kashmiri masters. These Jaichands have never raised voice of Jammu. He said the present situation in the state needs strengthening the hands of nationalist forces and ensure defeat of Congress, NC and PDP. He also expressed grave concern over the discriminatory policy of the JKBPEE while making selections in MBBS, BDS and BVSc.
The rally, organized by R.S.Pura Mandal President S. Paramjit Singh Pumma, was also addressed by Shamsher Singh Manhas, Ch. Shyam, Gurcharan Singh Pumma, Dr. Gharu Ram Bhagat, Harbhajan Singh, Vishwamitter Gupta,Sat Pal Puppy, Sarpanch Jasbir Lucky Lala Hans Raj and Dev Raj. |
