| Tara Chand holds mega rally in Khour | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
JAMMU, Oct 5: Speaker J&K Legislative Assembly She Tara Chand today appealed the people of Chhamb (Khour) Constituency to gear up for coming Assembly Election and bring the Congress party in to the power with full majority.
Addressing mammoth rally at border township of Khour in tehsil Akhnoor today. Speaker said, the Congress party will go to the public for seeking their mandate on the basis of its achievements made in the last 6 years and especially the historical achievements made during Ghulam Nabi Azad led Coalition Govt. in the State. He said the people were struggling for the implementation of Wazir Commission Report but the Azad Govt. prov~ much more than of the said Commission by providing 8 Districts, many Sub-Distftets and tehsils with a Single stroke of his pen.
Referring to Some of the major projects undertaken by Azad Govt. the Speaker said, the second bridge over river Chanab was a dream came true for the people of Akhnoor & Khour Block,besides otber parts of Rajouri &Pooncb Districts. Tbis bridge was completed in a record time only "'ith the personal Initiative of Ghulam ~a!V Azad who ensured free flow of funds for the project. He said another major project for constructing a bridge over River Chanab, connecting Pragwal directly with Khour block headquarter has been submitted to the Govt. of India for approval. This bridge will provide a vital link as per the defence point of view besides connecting various border villages
of the constituency. “If I am voted to Power this dream project will be my top priority”, said Tara Chand.
Speaker said a unique migrant colony, which is first of its type is coming up at Gurha Jagir in Tehsil Akhnoor for the border migrants with cost of Rs.59 crores, rehabilitating Six thousand Seventy two families. He said UP A Chairperson Mrs Sonia Gandhi during her Jammu visit had promised funds for the establishment of alternative accommodation for the border migrants. He said it was my utmost desired to ensure development in each and every sector including Health care, Education, Power, Water Supply Irrigation, F&C, Rural Development Agriculture etc. During my tenure I managed funds for the overall development of my constituency and uplifting economic condition of my people. |
