| PHE workers stage protest demonstration | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, Oct 6: In order to draw the attention of state government towards their long pending demands, PHE employees and workers under the banner of Water Works (PHE) Employees Association staged a protest demonstration here today. Shiv Kumar Sharma, president of the association and president INTUC, J&K while addressing the protestors have said that grave resentment is brewing among up among employees against the non-cooperation of the state administration which is showing no concern to sort out employees issues. Sharma alleged that discrimination with Jammu region employees and workers was continuing. He said that while such employees were being paid Rs 500 to Rs 1200 per month in Jammu their counterparts in Kashmir valley were getting Rs. 2100 per month. He demanded that all those daily wagers who have completed seven years of service should be regularized besides releasing of pending pay of CP workers, grant of benefit of essential service. Others who also addressed the gathering included Charnjeet Singh, vice president, Vinod Kumar Sharma, provincial general secretary, Vijay Luthra, Raman Kumar and Brij Mohan. |
