| Over Rs 500 Cr being spent on ERA projects | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT SRINAGAR, Oct 7: For multi sector infrastructure rehabilitation program undertaken by the Jammu and Kashmir Economic Reconstruction Agency (ERA)over Rs 500 crore are being spent on 36 major projects in Kashmir and Ladakh Divisions. This was stated at a review meeting chaired by the Divisional Commissioner, Kashmir Masaud Samoon here today. The meeting was informed that the agency has taken up works under transport and urban sectors, which involve up gradation of various roads and bridges and revamping of water supply schemes, water treatment plants and construction of drainage across the national highway. Thirty six projects taken up for up gradation include 19 road and 17 bridge projects, involving an expenditure of Rs 390 crore. Two projects costing Rs 9.82 crore have also been taken up for roads and bridge at Leh town. Under the Urban sector eight water supply schemes, water treatment plants and construction of drainages, across the national highway, involving a cost of Rs 189.82 crore have also been taken up. The meeting was attended by Additional Commissioner Kashmir, Director ERA, Chief Engineer R&B and Chief Engineer Electric, Superintending Engineer ERA, R&B and EM&RE. Divisional Commissioner stressed upon the implementing agency to accelerate the progress on these works. |
