Jammu, May 9: Citizen's Forum members feel very strange that as per the statement of Stone Crusher association President, these units are closed for the last 10 months and he also announced that Tawi minor mineral extraction is going on un-authorisedly and the sand and bajari is being sold for Rs.3500 to Rs.5000 percft instead of Rs. 1200 percft a year back. Does the association think the Jammu citizen constructing a house is personally extracting the sand and bajari from the Tawi river. Or this big secret dawned to them only when UT Government fined these units to the tune of thousands of crores of rupees. R K Chadha president Citizen's Forum request LG. Manoj Sinha and Divisional Commissioner Jammu to find out the stone crushers who have been extracting sand and bajri from Tawi River for the last 10 months and looting the people of Jammu and the UT government of its tax and take appropriate actions against them.
Jammu is people are be-fooled by these leaders in this project. This bill was first introduced in assembly but was opposed by PDP people of Kashmir being anti labour interests. Again Jammu leaders got it passed through Governors administration for looting the Jammu people. We request the authorities to fix the rates at Rs 1000 to Rs.1200 for pcft sand and bajari and allow extraction after identifying the big rocks from the nearby mountains, as a village industry to the nearby poor people.
