Kishtwar administration declared more containment zones after Surge in COVID cases

Kishtwar, May 9: After massive surge in COVID 19 cases reported in last one week, District Administration Kishtwar today declared more areas in Kishtwar town and its adjoining areas as micro containment zones.
As per the details available with Early Times, DC Kishtwar Ashok Kumar Sharma notified four areas having population of more than one thousand souls as micro containment zones after several COVID positive cases were reported from these areas which include area from entry point from Grahamin Bank Hidyal Chowk to exit point Fishries office near Bunastan, District Police Line, entry point from District Police Line to Hargadi Road and from entry point Tund road to house of Faqir Chand.
As per DC Kishtwar order, all the micro containment zones will remain under strict lockdown, there shall be no movement whatsoever in and out of the micro containment zones and the COVID test has been made mandatory for all the people residing in the areas declared as micro containment zones.
DC Kishtwar also directed Chief Medical Officer and Block Medical Officer to depute various teams for conducting the COVID tests of each individual living in the area beside put whole area under the supervision of Tehsildar Kishtwar so that the implementation of the order could be monitored.
The senior superintendent of police Kishtwar further has been directed to ensure the implementation of the order on ground.
Earlier District Administration Kishtwar also declared areas like Kuleed, Zelna, Wasser Kund, Boop Nagar, Panditgam, Umar Mohallah, partial Ward No.13 in MC Kishtwar as micro containment zones in Kishtwar town and its vicinity.
Similarly few areas in Padder was also declared as micro containment zones with the aim to prevent the spread of the virus in Kishtwar District.
