| Delimitation first, Panthers tell EC | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT SRINAGAR, Oct 8: A delegation of JKNPP led by its Chairman Prof. Bhim Singh today called on chief election commissioner of India N. Gopalswamy and election commissioner, namely Navin Chawla and S.Y Qureshi at Nehru Guest house here today. The chief of JKNPP discussed various points in connection with the possibilities of holding assembly elections in the state. While, making certain submission to commission members Bhim said that elections be held forthwith without any delay but first delimitation of constituencies be done. He said JKNPP is a nationalist, democratic and secular political voice of J&K and stands for upholding for the integrity, sovereignty and secular unity of the country at all cost. He said any delay in holding assembly election will send wrong signal to the enemies of peace and democracy in the state. Bhim urged upon the members of commission to ensure that a composite administration is setup in J&K to hold elections by providing security to the candidates and leaders during mobilizing the public opinion. All the voters of J&K he issued voter cards without any delay so to avoid rigging. Addressing the media person after meeting EC, Bhim said that people of Jammu and Kashmir want elections in order to ensure a democratic rule in the state. He said situation is absolutely conducive to hold election in due time. He further told the commission that the power hungry corrupt politicians and bureaucrats are opposed to the electoral process to continue robbing the state and suppressing the people. He said that the delimitation and election could be held simultaneously to meet the aspiration f the people of Jammu and Kashmir. |
