Gool-Arnas Gujjars join BJP

JAMMU, Oct 8: Over 100 members of Gujar community hailing from different parts of Gool-Arnas assembly segment today joined BJP at party headquarters in presence of BJP State President Ashok Khajuria, Member National Executive and former State President Dr. Nirmal Singh, State General Secretary Shamsher Singh Manhas and Reasi District President Kabla Singh.
Ashok Khajuria, while addressing the gathering of new entrants, said that a wave of change is being witnessed in whole of the state and people from all the religions and castes have now realized that the BJP is a true secular political party. He said the joining of more and more Muslims in BJP is a signal to those who have been painting BJP as communal party that they are wrong.
Dr. Nirmal Singh, in his address, said that patriotic Muslims in the state are feeling insecure due to the soft approach of the Congress-led UPA towards the separatists and the militants. He said these people are now openly appreciating the rule of BJP-led NDA at the centre saying that the policy of the NDA to crush the militancy with a heavy hand had induced a sense of security among the masses.
The people who joined BJP today had been associated with the Congress, NC and PDP for long but today now preferred BJP as, according to them, it is only BJP which can provide security and raise the voice of the neglected and poor. These people had come all along from Chaklaas, Kainthli, Tringa, Dharmari, Arnas, Thoru, Kund, Lancha, Hadiwala, Budan, Kot Bagad, Dimmy, Karamkatha, Suldhar and Masaal.
Prominent among those who joined BJP included Mohammed. Rafiq, Mohammed Amin Sheikh, Abdul Ghani Chib, Sardar Mohammed., Akhtar Hussain, Mohammed Sharief, Nissar Khan, Mohammed Baksh, Haji Gulam Hussain, Mohammed Iqbal, Shamas Din, Nazir Ahmed Tharu, Haji Khushi Mohammed and Abdul Gani Bhat.
