Chaman welcomes Zardari’s statement
10/9/2008 6:23:30 PM
EARLY TIMES REPORT
JAMMU, Oct 8: Emphasizing for persistent need for mounting pressure to make Pakistan realize the dangers inherent in the continuing of hostility towards India, the former Union Minister and a senior BJP leader Prof. Chaman Lal Gupta observed that it was a welcome statement of the Pak President Asif Ali Zardari that violence in Kashmir is terrorism and not any kind of Jehad for freedom.
Interacting with party activists from Doda district and some other militancy infected areas of Jammu here today, Prof. Gupta said that Pakistan during all these years have been operating with a mind set created by religious fundamentalists and Jehadis thinking that has taken over in that country.
The BJP leader felt that in India there is much need to get out own house in order than getting much pleased over the statement of Zardari. In different parts of the country the Jehadi thoughts are taking roots resulting in blasts in different parts of the country and increased incidents of violence, he added and pointed out that certain politicians particularly the Congress led UPA ruling partners are openly siding with the fundamentalists and Jehadi elements, and thus creating confusion by raising accusing fingers against the police and other forces fighting such ultras.
The activists from Doda areas revealed that the statement of Pak President, Zardari has created a lot of confusion amongst the ranks of secessionists and Jehadi elements though their leaders are trying to keep up the morale of the ultras and supporters of militancy.
