16-member J&K U-22 teams leaves for Punjab

JAMMU, Oct 9: A 16-member under-22 team, selected by the Jammu and Kashmir Cricket Association (JKCA) at Srinagar, has left for Col. C K Nayudu four-day league matches of the North Zone.
In the opening match, J&K is scheduled to meet Himachal Pradesh on October 12 at Patiala in Punjab.
The team, which left Jammu yesterday for the venue, was undecided about who will lead the side. Moreover, the JKCA was unable to nominate the officials accompanying the boys.
When contacted joint secretary of the JKCA Jammu wing, Sunit Sharma was unable to give the final 16 side. “The fax message I have got from Srinagar mentioning the final selected team was unreadable, so I cannot tell you the names of the players,” Sunit told SAN.
However, the final selected team was available with JKCA’s Srinagar office, but without naming the captain and officials. The team: Uwaid Ahmed, Mohd Muddasir, Zahoor Sofi, Pervez Rasool, Mehraj-ud-Din, Adil Rishi, Imran Haroon, Asif Rasool, Mehraj-ud-Din (Jr), Ram Dayal, Munish Kumar, Rohit Bhat, Deepak Sharma, Sohit Khajuria, Sahil Bhalwal and Manik Gupta.
