| All set for PM’s visit | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, Oct 9: A think security blanket has been thrown in at least eight districts of Jammu and Kashmir as Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh is arriving tomorrow to dedicate to the nation two prestigious projects. The Prime Minister, who is arriving on a two-day visit, will dedicate the 450 Baglihar Hydro-electric power projects tomorrow at Chandrakote in Ramban district and will launch the unique train service in Kashmir on Saturday. The Prime Minister will be reaching the Udhampur airbase tomorrow morning from where he will fly in to Chandrakote. After inauguration of Baglihar hydro-electric project, the Prime Minister will fly to Srinagar where he will stay for the night and take the inaugural train run on Saturday morning. Jammu-Srinagar National Highway will be closed Udhampur onwards for half of the day as a security measure. Sources said that there will be a 1000 strong gathering at Chandrakote which Prime Minister will address after inauguration of the prestigious project. The vehicular traffic on the Jammu-Srinagar National Highway between Batote to Ramban will not be allowed to halt since this evening and the traffic officers deployed at this stretch has been directed to regulate the traffic systematically. Tomorrow the traffic flow will be suspended from 8 AM to 12 noon at this stretch of the highway, sources added. The troops of Delta Force had taken positions at almost all the hillocks surrounding. |
