| Theater artists invite Dasmunshi’s attention | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, Oct 10: Indian People’s Theatre Association IPTA Chapter J&K state submitted a Memorandum to Priay-Ranjan Dass Munshi, Union Minister Information and Broadcasting at New Delhi regarding the burning issues of Artist Community of Jammu IPTA’s. As per release I.P.T.A played a major role during freedom struggle to build a mass-movement through theatre and other performing Arts to educate the masses struggling for implementation of Cultural Policy in performing arts centre in India (Doordarshan Kendras, Akashwani, Literary and Cultural Centres) run by Govt to break the monopoly of vested interested. Doordarshan Kendra Jammu is without the Director for three years its additional charge is with Station Director Radio Kashmir Jammu. The Station Director A.I.R already is overloaded and can not look after properly the Jammu Doordarshan Kendra. Parameter should be fixed while assigning the booking to performing Artists, Writers and Directors for in-house productional programmes and taken care all approved artists should be involved without repetition. Overstay staff working in Jammu Doordarshan Kendra should be transferred to other station to break the monopoly and to bring change to improve the standard of programmes. Royalty and commission based programmes should be restarted in interest of Border state. Grant of Royalty based programme already sanctioned taken back should be re-sanctioned. |
