Early Times Report

Jammu, May 24: NSS Unit of GDC Vijaypur, “Khidmat” organized a Digital Social Awareness Campaign to combat COVID-19. The basic purpose of the campaign is to engage young participants for creating awareness about COVID-19 appropriate behavior and is a part of the youth led movement of Unicef-MoYAS #Young Warriors.
A number of NSS volunteers of the college registered themselves and took a pledge by posting the phrase “ I am a # Young Warrior” through different modes of social media platforms like Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and Whatsapp while encouraging others to support the cause and to become a young warrior.
They shared their thoughts and Know-how to enlighten and motivate the masses to tackle the pandemic situation which has arisen due to COVID-19 in the country and also to dispel the myths, rumours, half-truths and misinformation prevailing in the society and mind sets of the common people which has added to the confusion and anxiety of an already pressurized population struggling to cope with COVID-19 and its aftermath.
The whole programme was organized under the guidance of Sangeeta Sudan, Principal of the College. She appreciated the students for their active participation and exhorted that youth should embrace each life challenge as an opportunity. Some challenges may seen enormous, insurmountable and harsh but if the youth remains centered and full of energy , no challenge is too big to meet with. Stressing about the potential outcome of the young warriors she said, “If we simply perform the task at hand without worrying about the outcomes we have the power to overcome them and if we make a practice of facing challenges with full presence of mind and deep insight we can easily flip the script.” The entire programme was coordinated by Sunil Kumar Mangoch (NSS PO).
