| Inclusion of local produce demanded | | Cross-LoC trade | | EARLY TIMES REPORT POONCH, Oct 10: Delighted over the opening of the cross LoC trade route between the two sides of divided kashmir from Chakkan-Da-Bagh crossing point in Poonch district, the local residents demanded inclusion of the local produce in the cross LoC trade. National Conference women leader, Dr Shenaz Ganai has demanded that the local items including Rajma, Desi Ghee, precious forest produce like "Guchhis" etc and Maize flour should be included in the cross LoC trade list besides other goods. "I believe that this will not only generate revenue to the locals but also be helpful in strengthening the relations between the people of this divided region", Dr Shenaz Ganai said urging upon the government to keep the sentiments of the locals in mind and consider their very genuine demand. She said that the trader community of poonch had been demanding opening of trade routs since partition and when these routes are likely to open the residents feel neglected as none of the local items have been included in the trade list. "Government must consider the request of the poonch based trader community and give them due share like other traders of the state" she said adding the inclusion of the poonch based goods in cross LoC trade list will strengthen the broken bonds of love on both sides of the border. |
