| Governor urged for pay hike | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, Oct 11: President of the National Mazdoor Conference (NMC) Subash Shastri has appealed to the governor N.N. Vohra for early implementation of 6th pay commission recommendations in favour of state govt employees and pensioners as the same have already been implemented by the central as well as several state governments. In a memorandum to governor Shastri has said states Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Chattisgarh, Haryana and Sikkim extended this benefit to their employee’s pensioners. He demanded that the salaried class along with pensioners in J&K should also get this benefit at the earliest. Shastri urged for implementing the pay panel report before the ensuing festivals in view of inflation and steep hike in prices of essential commodities of daily use. Pleading the cause of daily wagers casual labour and contractual staff, Shastri demanded that their services be regularized before Darbar move. Releasing pay dues of motivators working in IWDP, Akhnoor, social forestry department in Trikuta Hills, continuing the services of prism – men in revenue Deptt. issuing order for the regularizations of 180 daily wagers of RDD in Jammu for which posts have already cleared by the planning deptt. declaring Jammu as B- city, provision of DA instead of Cola for PSU employees, deputing casual labor of floriculture deptt. for gardeners training along with continuing their services were other demands highlighted in the memorandum. |
