PDP condemns excesses in Kashmir
10/11/2008 10:08:27 PM
EARLY TIMES REPORT
SRINAGAR, Oct 11: Srinagar, Oct 11- PDP has strongly condemned the use of excessive force on protestors on Friday in which three persons were killed and over a dozen injured.
Describing the incident as a sheer frustration of administration, PDP youth General Secretary Bashir Assad in a statement has urged upon it to observe maximum restraint while dealing with the situation. He said such incidents tantamount the failure of the administration in dealing with the peaceful protestors and would further derail the peace initiative for the resolution of the crises at political level.
"Mishandling of the situation would only deteriorate the situation and add to the public anger" Assad said and asserted that inefficiency and inability of the administration was obvious because strong-arm methods and use of excessive force comes into play only when anti people and vested interests are at the helm of affairs.
