| BJP holds swabhimaan rally in Basohli | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
JAMMU, Oct 11; Asserting that time has come for a change in the state’s unitary politico-constitution structure that gives political power to the people of Jammu, former Union Minister and senior BJP leader Prof Chaman Lal Gupta has said that BJP has decided to launch a movement in order to achieve this goal and adequately empower provincial council and to make the state government provide development funds on provincial basis. ‘BJP believes that bifurcation of all the Directorates and Corporations has become absolutely necessary in order to ensure that Jammu also have all Directorates and Corporations’, he added.
Addressing Swabhimaan rally at Basholi today, Prof. Gupta said that political power for Jammu is achievable and added that the people will have to ensure that their votes go in one direction so that the Congress and similar other outfits, which have played havoc with the interests of the Jammu people, are comprehensively defeated.
A number of leaders from Congress and NC joined BJP on this occasion, majority of them were Gujjars and Bakerwals.
