Following 3682 fresh recoveries COVID-19 recovery rate in JK reaches 87.27%, 1895 new cases

SRINAGAR, June 1: The COVID-19 recovery rate in Jammu & Kashmir reached 87.27 percent as 3,682 virus affected patients recovered in the past 24 hours. The union territory reported 1,895 new cases following which the total number of positive cases reached 2, 92,360; with 32 fresh deaths the death toll reached 3,939.
Srinagar district reported 304 new cases followed by Jammu district 218 cases, Pulwama district 185 cases, Budgam district 181 cases, Baramulla district 161 cases, Kupwara district 141 cases, Anantnag district 85 cases, Doda district 73 cases, Kulgam district 66 cases, Rajouri district 64 cases, Ganderbal district 61 cases, Poonch district 60 cases, Bandipora and Udhampur districts 52 cases each, Kathua district 50 cases, Samba district 45 cases, Ramban district 39 cases, Shopian district 26 cases, Kishtwar district 24 cases and Reasi district eight cases.
Jammu district reported nine fresh deaths of Corona Virus followed by Srinagar district six deaths, Kupwara district three deaths, Udhampur, Rajouri, Pulwama and Kulgam districts two deaths each and Samba, Doda, Poonch, Reasi, Anantnag & Bandipora districts one death each. The Jammu & Kashmir administration through the media bulletin informed that 1,895 new positive cases of novel Corona Virus (COVID-19), 633 from Jammu division and 1,262 from Kashmir division, have been reported today, thus taking the total number of positive cases in Jammu and Kashmir to 2, 92,360. Also 32 COVID-19 deaths have been reported, 17 from Jammu division and 15 from Kashmir division.
Moreover, 3,682 more COVID-19 patients have recovered and discharged from various hospitals including 1,448 from Jammu division and 2,234 from Kashmir Division. Out of 2, 92,360 positive cases, 33,276 are active positive, 2, 55,145 have recovered and 3,939 have died; 1,925 in Jammu division and 2,014 in Kashmir division.
Out of 86, 05,273 test results available, 83, 12,913 samples have tested negative till date. Till date 21, 00,700 persons have been enlisted for observation which included 82,467 persons in home quarantine including facilities operated by government, 33,276 in isolation and 1, 46,091in home surveillance. Besides, 18, 34,927 persons have completed their surveillance period. The bulletin said that Srinagar has 65,467 positive cases, 4,057 active positive, 60,633 recovered, 777 deaths; Baramulla has 21,488 positive cases, 2,512 active positive, 18,716 recovered, 260 deaths; Budgam has 20,417 positive cases, 2,148 active positive, 18,090 recovered, 179 deaths; Anantnag has 14,638 positive cases, 3,581 active positive, 10,895 recovered, 162 deaths; Pulwama has 13,241 positive cases, 2,226 active positive, 10,844 recovered, 171 deaths.
“Kupwara has 12,178 positive cases, 1,813 active positive, 10,220 recovered, 145 deaths; Kulgam has 9,943 positive cases, 1,514 active positive, 8,325 recovered, 104 deaths; Ganderbal has 8,805 positive cases, 1,217 active positive, 7,519 recovered, 69 deaths; Bandipora has 8,489 positive cases, 850 active positive, 7,547 recovered, 92 deaths and Shopian has 5,334 positive cases, 1,129 active positive, 4,150 recovered, 55 deaths,” reads the bulletin.
The bulletin said that Jammu has 50,893 positive cases, 5,329 active positive, 44,488 recovered, 1,076 deaths; Udhampur has 10,639 positive cases, 603 active positive, 9,910 recovered, 126 deaths; Rajouri has 9,742 positive cases, 1,167 active positive, 8,389 recovered, 186 deaths; Kathua has 8,805 positive cases, 480 active positive, 8,193 recovered, 132 deaths; Samba has 6,776 positive cases, 1,120 active positive, 5,544 recovered, 112 deaths.
“Doda has 5,784 positive cases, 1,112 active positive, 4,582 recovered, 90 deaths; Reasi has 5,314 positive cases, 465 active positive, 4,812 recovered, 37 deaths; Poonch has 5,267 positive cases, 925 active positive, 4,263 recovered, 79 deaths; Ramban has 5,127 positive cases, 758 active positive, 4,316 recovered, 53 deaths and Kishtwar has 4,013 positive cases, 270 active positive, 3,709 recovered, 34 deaths,” reads the bulletin. Out of 2, 92,360 positive cases, 21,598 have been reported as travelers.
The bulletin has informed the people that the best way to protect themselves from COVID-19 is by maintaining physical distance of at least two meters from others, frequently cleaning hands with an alcohol based hand sanitizer or washing them with soap and water and following good respiratory etiquette and hygiene. As a measure for social distancing in public places and workplaces wearing a face cover is compulsory.
