| “Rang Badalte Duniya” marks beginning of Natrang’s Sunday theater | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, Oct 12: Natrang restars its weekly Sunday Theatre series and stages Hindi Paly ‘Rang Badalti Duniay’ directed by Balwant Thakur at Natrang studio. Earlier, Natrang continued the regular Sunday Theatre fro four years without break. The series could not be contined due to the recent Jammu Bandh. In his opening remarks Balwant said that theatre becomes the first casualty of the disturbed condition and it may take a year to Natrang to fully recover from the work losses it has during the last agitation. He further said that Jammu theatre requires patronage and help like other sectors which are being supported to recover their losses. The play Rand Badalti Duniya was based on the story of Anton Chekov and its plots revolves around a corrupt police officer who changes colours like chameleon. The action starts when a dog bites a pickpocket, who approaches, the police officer to get him the handsome claim from the owner of the dog. The cops begin to search the owner, but in vain. A passerby hints that the dog may belong to the local minister as he saw a similar dong at his place. O getting this clue the officer starts beating the pickpocket. For teasing the dog/ the is beating the pickpocket, another man from the crowd while looking at the dog says that the local minister cannot keep such a dog who is known for having point hunter dogs. Among actors Mohit Sahrma s Police officer and Rohit Verma as junior cop gave the best of their performances. The role of dog played by Mohd. Yasin. |
